A husband and wife wedding-planning duo will be the master
conductors in an orchestra of ten stunning weddings on 10/10/10.
The Bridal Suite, bermuda.com partners, beat out a long list
of competitors to win the "Perfect 10" contract. That means
wedding planners Carmen and Allister Simmons will oversee a
gigantic Bermuda Department of Tourism blockbuster promotion which
will bring ten destination weddings to Bermuda on one day --
October 10th, 2010.
"You've got to be married to be able to deal with all this
stuff!" said Mr. Simmons.
He and his wife split their time between Bermuda and Canada.
Their son Tyler is part of the family business as well.
"We are in no way daunted by the upcoming challenges," Mr.
Simmons said. "We are not only excited but proud to be the
wedding planner winner for the Perfect 10 Promotion."
The Perfect 10 is a contest. Winning brides and grooms
will receive their choice of ten themed six-day, five-night, dream
wedding getaways, specifically tailored to Bermuda offerings with
titles like Exotic Cave, Magical Sunset, Pink Sand and
Contest winners can also choose eight guests to accompany them
to Bermuda -- on a chartered JetBlue flight no less! All the
wedding parties will apparently fly together.
Ten Bermuda resorts are housing each of the couples for this
unprecedented promotion including bermuda.com partners: Cambridge
Beaches, CoCo Reef, Elbow Beach, Fairmont Hamilton Princess,
Fairmont Southampton, Newstead-Belmont Hills, The Reefs and
"Bermuda's partnership with The Knot, and our continued alliance
with participating airline sponsor JetBlue Airways, will strengthen
our position in not only the weddings and honeymoon market, but
also as we compete globally as a leading tourism destination," said
Bermuda's Director or Tourism William Griffith.
Forty percent of destination weddings take place outside of the
United States, according to "The Knot Market Intelligence: 2009
Destination Weddings Survey".
The contest launched April 23. Couples must submit a photo
and ten reasons they want to wed in Bermuda. A panel of
judges will choose a collection of finalists. The public will
vote for the ones they like best
