5 Fabulous Cocktails made by Bermuda’s Absolut-Best Bartenders!

I was honored to be a judge in the “Absolut Bartender Finals”, an annual Gosling’s event that challenges participants to create original cocktails using Absolut Vodka as the key ingredient. Now it’s your turn to do the taste testing! Meet the finalists at their place of work and ask to try their signature cocktail.
Matt won first place for his creation, which was no doubt the most original and inventive. “The Absolut Certain-Tea” is made with house infused Earl Grey Absolut, fresh lemon juice, Bermuda honey & black pepper syrup and fresh peach puree, garnished with grated dark chocolate.

Coming in close second was Somers. His concoction he calls “The Swedish Collins”, an ultra-refreshing spin on the familiar Tom Collins. Made with Absolut Vodka, home-made rosemary nectar (picked from Somer’s Garden), pear puree, lemon juice and garnished with a sprig of rosemary.

Third place was awarded to Jason for the fresh and fragrant medley he calls “Serene 32”. Made with lavender infused Absolut vodka, lemon Juice, Gosling’s falernum syrup, ruby-red grapefruit juice, and peach bitters. He garnished the cocktail with fresh lavender flowers for a delicate finishing touch.

Next runner up was Richard who was inspired by island-life when he dreamed up his exotic cocktail, “The Absolut Surprise”. Made with Absolut vodka, fresh-pressed melon and mango juice, apple sour, Malibu rum, triple-sec cointreu, fresh-mint extract and sugar syrup.
Honorable Mention was given to Kamla for her “Dirty Margarita.” Compared to the other finalists, her cocktail was simple but the taste was undeniably amazing with a great balance of sweet and sour. Made with Absolut Vodka, Patron XO Café, fresh-squeezed lime and agave syrup.
