Bermuda is surrounded by some of the most beautiful blue waters in the world and there are few better ways to spend a vacation in this island paradise than engaging in water sports. Pleasure crafts are available for rental, or you can venture into the deep aboard a fishing boat to reel in some of the game fish that make the waters off Bermuda their home. Other water sports such as windsurfing, parasailing and water skiing are available from the many charter companies that operate in Bermuda. The waters near Hamilton Harbour are always a safe bet – they are scenic and offer exciting views of the city’s main shopping street.
For the romantics there are small sunfish for rent that are perfect for sailing in the calm waters near the Paget and Warwick side of the harbour and admiring the stately homes that line the shores above – or each other. |

| The Spirit of Bermuda ~ Bermuda Sloop Foundation |

The ultimate social vision is teams of cohesive, yet diverse, young Bermudians, impelled out of their familiar environments, having succeeded in new and demanding challenges - their improved feelings of self-worth, leadership and teamwork of great benefit to the individuals and society generally.
The Bermuda Sloop Foundation was incorporated as a Bermuda Company Limited by Guarantee in December, 1999. It was registered as a Bermuda Charity in 2000 (#545).
Why Sail Training?
We learn not only the life lessons of personal character and team development, but hands-on academic and trade skills. Sailing is a mix of adventure and education; the ability to separate fantasy & instant gratification from dreams & goal setting. Sailing teaches us the same lessons as were taught our Bermudian forefathers nearly 400 years ago:
• Respect for order and organization.
• Recognition of the need for practiced skill.
• The essential value of planning ahead.
• The obligation to look out for our mates.
• The survival value of staying calm in emergencies.
• The clear necessity to tell truth no matter what the consequences.
