Five reasons to choose this hot spot for a romantic date night!
By Brigitta Wohlmuth, February 2016
1. The Hidden Entrance
Tucked away in one of Hamilton’s quaint little alleys is the entrance to this award-winning restaurant. It’s no big secret for locals, but to the visitor Bolero is disguised as a ‘hidden gem’ in the middle of the city. It’s a great place to surprise your lover with an unexpected dinner-for-two. Just tell her your looking for a taxi then whisk her down this romantic brick-paved lane.
2. The Sexy Setting
The latin-feel to this restaurant imparts a sensuality that is so typical of the Spanish-speaking countries. Red-painted walls ignite feelings of passion and there is some interesting art on display within. A rustic yet refined setting makes it a perfect venue for an intimate date. (Plus there’s the option to sit outside on the balcony and enjoy stunning views of the harbour as the sun sets.)
3. Passion on the Plates
With a menu that changes 4-5 times a year, it’s clear their chefs are deeply passionate about innovative cuisine. Since they opened in 2007, Bolero has consistently pleased the “foodies” of our island with their fresh and funky creations. Recently they were awarded the Certificate of Excellence in the Food and Drink category of the 2015 ‘Best of Bermuda Awards.’
4. Red Red Wine
When you see the wine list at Bolero don’t be surprised if that old UB40 song comes ringing in your ears. Nothing quite says “Stay Close to Me” like a glass of red and they have a very impressive selection with over 40 bottles to choose from. Savor the flavor of love on your taste buds as you sample grapes from Bordeaux to Veneto!
5. Intimate Service
You want your date to feel as comfortable as possible, and the friendly staff at Bolero will make sure of that! Here guests are treated like family in an atmosphere that is casual and relaxing. You and your date will feel at home away from home- its just like you’re favorite restaurant (only better because your in Bermuda!)
