There has been the most wonderful cultural renaissance in
Bermuda in the last twenty years. For a group of islands the
geographical size of an American smaller town, the visual Arts in
Bermuda have grown by leaps and bounds. In this short historical
time, Masterworks Foundation, Bermuda National Gallery, Bermuda
Maritime Museum, the Arts Centre at Dockyard, Bermuda Society of
Arts, Bermuda Craft Market, Gallery 135 and Kaleidoscope Foundation
have all taken root firmly in this island community. Permanent
exhibition spaces within corporations such as Ace Ltd and Colonial
Insurance have established themselves, as well as coffee shops
showcasing the various local talents as the number of working
artists has increased considerably.
