Finest Selection of Cuban Cigars

Chatham House is a historic retailer of Cuban cigars. In 1895, John A. P. Pitt erected a small retail store, Pitt & Co. at the corner of Hamilton’s Burnaby Hill and Front Street and selling items such as glassware, furniture, pharmaceuticals and tobacco products. Today, Charles William Pitt, great grandson of the founder, can be found behind the scenes at Chatham House, selling the finest cigars at the store’s original location, including Cohiba, Punch, Romeo Y Julieta, Partagas, Hoyo de Monterrey, Montecristo, Bolivar, and H. Cohiba

Medium – Full Bodied

The Siglo (or Century) cigars are crafted at Partagas and are said to offer a light flavour. Aficionado magazine rates the Cohiba Siglo II 15th Best Cigar of 2006 and the newer Siglo VI has been extremely popular.

Punch

Mild – Medium

The bigger the better! These cigars have a fragrant bouquet and a spicy aroma with a slightly sweet taste. Chatham House is happy to be home to the Punch Punch; a reliable and impressively rolled cigar suitable for both beginners and serious smokers.

Romeo Y Julieta

Mild – Medium

With so many different sizes and varieties of cigars, one cannot describe all the variations of flavours achieved by the Romeo Y Julieta. However, a distinct trait could be that it has been able to adapt throughout the centuries.

Partagas

Very Full Bodied

Aside from all of the Partagas are full, rich, with earthy flavours, this brand is a strong cigar making it a prime choice for more serious smokers. In February 2006, the Partagas Serie D No. 4 Reserva was rated fifth Best Cigar of the Year by ‘Aficionado’ magazine.

Hoyo de Monterrey

Mild

This cigar has a sun grown binder and filler with a delicate flavour and rich taste. The Hoyo de Monterrey cigars are known for this distinctive flavour, silky richness and complexity of taste attributed to the use of the finest Cuban tobacco.

Montecristo

Medium – Full Bodied

These delicious, full-flavoured cigars are highly recognizable due to their unique tobacco blend and highly distinctive flavour. Rated second Best Cigar of the Year by ‘Aficionado’ magazine in February 2006, the Montecristo Edmundo is a fantastic choice.

Bolivar

Very Full Bodied

Today, Bolivar cigars are thought to be amongst the strongest, most full-bodied cigars produced in Cuba. It has a distinctly strong flavour and robust nature that draw mostly seasoned Havana aficionados and is not for the beginner.

H. Upmann

Mild – Medium

Upmanns offer a smooth, subtle, mild to medium smoke. They are great for beginners, but appeal to the daytime tastes of even seasoned connoisseurs. Their larger sizes are amongst the most rare and sought-after cigars in the world.
