Golf in December, Port Royal Says Thank You Alex Madeiros
By Kim Swan, J.P. Teaching Professional
With the golf season in full swing, the golf community is infectiously abuzz with players preoccupied with their scores and their golf games.
We at Port Royal have been kept busy catering to our public play and our regular members – but this November is bittersweet – our tournament schedule is off to a great start but sadly we are losing Alex Madieros our affable Director of Golf who has accepted a position at a private golf facility in Bluffton, South Carolina.
Personally, I am very proud of Alex’s progress and contribution to Port Royal Golf Course in particular and Bermuda Tourism in general, as Alex started his career in the golf industry as my Apprentice Golf Pro/Manager at the former St. Georges Golf Course. Over the past 5 years, Alex’s tenure at Port Royal Golf Course has been very successful, where he has developed a great relationship with our members and industry partners in the hospitality industry. We at Port Royal Golf Course wish Alex and his family all the best as they transition to a life in the United States.
When it comes to our golf course, we consider ourselves to be very blessed here at Port Royal Golf Course. Kudus to our golf course maintenance team for the outstanding job keeping Port Royal in tip top condition – although we no longer have the PGA Grand Slam of Golf – our golf course conditions remain at a very high standard.
We invite you to visit us here at Port Royal where our fully stocked Pro Shop provides many gift options for the holiday season. Additionally, if you are planning a special event, consider our restaurant Bella Vista Grill who also specialize in catering.
