Just pay a visit to Italian-born, Vincenzo Della Valle, he’ll measure your feet to ensure a perfect fit (even if one foot is slightly larger), and have your bespoke pair ready for you in just a couple days.
You can find him sitting at the window of his new store on Hamilton’s Queen Street, passionately consumed in the skill he learned as a young boy on the Mediterranean island of Capri. At just 9-years-old Mr. Della Valle was taken on as a young apprentice by sandal making masters, Vincenzo Ricci and Antonio Viva. Over the decades he’s perfected his craft, finally achieving his boyhood dream of launching his own footwear brand when, this summer he and his wife opened Della Valle sandals, offering both locals and visitors to the island a totally unique shopping experience.
The exclusive sandals feature soft leather from the Tuscany region of Italy, and come in many designs with a choice for heels and decorative additions. Since opening in July, Della Valle has been the buzz of the town for local shoe lovers. Prices range from $100 to $450 for custom sandals.
