Golf4Life in 2017, It’s Good for your Soul
by Kim Swan, J.P. Teaching Professional
Welcome 2017! We at Port Royal Golf Course are excited to usher in a great year of golf. While many in our midst are preoccupied keeping New Year’s resolutions, we have partnered with BF&M to encourage people of all ages to experience the great game of golf. Our initiative ‘Golf4Life’ is an opportunity for us to expose potential and current golfers to the benefits of a positive lifestyle through golf.
Benefits for Juniors and/or Seniors to Golf4Life
Golf is a game that can be enjoyed at all ages and our aim is to cast our net wide and reach out to all segments of society. Our golf tournaments are designed to be inclusive and encourage participation from a wide cross section of people with the purpose of bringing diverse groups together through this highly social sporting event.
Golf is good for the soul
Golfers spend hours on the golf course, experiencing a sport at a more leisurely pace while enjoying the fresh air and peaceful surroundings. Golf is a complex game and presents mental challenges designed to keep players on their toes. As a result, there are positive psychological impacts for the person who can enjoy some time away from the hustle and bustle of life by playing golf.
Social Benefits of Golf4Life.
The collective goal of Port Royal and BF&M is to expose more people to the game of golf through Golf4Life. An important component of this programme is to foster social interaction between the diverse groups of people that Port Royal Golf Course events attract. We find this to be one of the most satisfying benefits of our tournaments.
We extend Happy New Year wishes to all and encourage you to get involved in the upcoming Golf4Life tournaments. The first tournament is coming up on Sunday January 15th. Keep an eye open for Port Royal Golf Course and BF&M’s social media coverage for more information about this exciting series of events.
