Summer is heating up as a two week Live Latin Music event begins at the Sea Breeze Lounge at the Lido Complex.
The Elbow Beach Hotel venue will be alive with the smooth sounds of live Latin music featuring Grammy Award-winning artists Willy Torres on percussion and David Oquendo on guitar.
Mr. Torres, band leader of Willy’s NYC Salsa Project, is no stranger to Bermuda, as this is his third appearance after he performed last November’s Mambo Nights at the Fairmont Southampton and Festival Latino in May at the Rumbar. Their repertoire ranges from hard-hitting salsa classics for the dancers to Latin Jazz, to smooth rumba and easy listening for the dinner crowd.
The event starts on Wednesday, July 7 and will run every Wednesday to Saturday until July 17th. The duo will entertain listeners from 7pm to 11pm and the dance floor will be open in The Deep Lounge for the dancers from 10pm to 1am. Entry is free.
Lido is offering everyone who spends $40 or more at the Sea Breeze lounge during the two-week eve the chance to win an intimate dinner and cruise for six people onboard luxury yacht The Venetian.
You can also enter this draw by spending $40 or more at Brown & Co., or listen to SalsaMania’s Latin Flavours on Magic 102.7 on Saturday, 7pm to 9pm, and Nikita Robinson’s Ladies Room on HOTT 107.5 for chances to call in.
SalsaMania Productions will be holding its annual August Mambo Nights 13th & 14th August, and Bermuda’s Argentine Tango Festival, from September 2-5 2010, in addition to weekly events island-wide.
