| Glow Worm Cruise ~ June 9 & 10 |
Bermuda’s fireworm or glow worm produces bioluminescent displays during its mating activities. Through the months of June, July, August and September, between two and three nights after a full moon, after sunset this illuminated mating ritual can be witnessed. In calm inlets, bioluminescent fireworms swarm to the surface of the sea and engage in sensuous dances and as they do, they give off a luminescent glow that lights up the water. Lasting only a few minutes, the dance is repeated the following month. The Glow Worm Cruise leaves from the BUEI Dock and heads to a calm area to witness this monthly ritual.
Evening Cruise. $50.00 for non-members and $35.00 for members. Boat leaves from BUEI dock. Children 14 and up permitted. Please snacks and drinks. No alcohol allowed on boat. Don’t forget windbreakers, sweatshirts, jackets and your camera. Call 297-7314 for more information and reservations.

2009 will mark the 17th running of the Marion Bermuda Cruising Yacht Race. It has been a wonderful 32 years, starting from a race that began with two old sailing buddies talking about racing from Marion to Bermuda and inviting their friends, to each boat being tracked through satellite navigation for all the world to follow. It has always been a race for cruising boats and remains so today.

Changing Gears ~ Bermuda National Gallery Exhibition |
African Art in Motion
This exhibition will explore the layers of meaning, the ceremonial, motion, and emotion-oriented qualities, intrinsic to the artifacts on display.
Changing Gears: the Art of the Bermuda Motorcycle
Inspired by the exhibition, “ The Art of the Motorcycle” held at the Guggenheim Museum (NYC) in 1998, (which broke attendance records), this exhibition will celebrate an art form that is, interestingly, also a rite of passage in Bermuda.
Contemporary Conversations: Kevin Morris
This solo exhibition is the first in a series of contemporary exhibitions. Contemporary Conversations is a new concept to the Bermuda National Gallery, which highlights work by living artists in the gallery’s permanent collection. It allows for exceptional artists, in mid-career, to showcase their talents and trigger conversation about the layers of meaning in contemporary art. It is anticipated that this exhibition will inspire younger, emerging artists with fresh and challenging artwork.

As the sunset dissolves into starlit night, depart from BUEI dock for tranquil waters and Bermuda's prime location for stargazing, to point out equatorial constellations or other interesting celestial sights. The abundance of the astral bodies revealed to us makes it sometimes difficult to pick out common constellations . . . We invite you, if you are so inclined, to take this as a personal challenge.
