At the first ever Department of Tourism hotel and guest house merit award presentation of July 3rd, 1996, Oxford House was the one and only recipient of the Bermuda Govenment "Cedar Tree" Merit Award for the best guest house achieving top marks in Health, Fire and Tourism inspections of 1995-96.
The Oxford House received this award again, hence winning the award for eight years in a row.

The A.A.A. Travel Book for 1996 awarded a two diamond rating to Oxford House, i.e., showing noticeable enhancement in room decor and quality of furnishings.
