The Bermuda Train Company offers unique 60-minute narrative trolley tours of Hamilton and Dockyard in a clean and comfortable setting.

Iconic and unforgettable, Bermuda train conductors combine humorous stories, colorful anecdotes and historical information into an entertaining celebration of our heritage. The train itself is somewhat of a local symbol, giving guests a rare, charming perspective from which to view the island.

Our main tours cover Hamilton and Dockyard. We’re also available for special events including Weddings, Birthday Parties, School and Summer Camp Outings or any other type of Private Function. Most regular tours start at 10 or 11am, but these times are subject to change.

The Hamilton tour
Our Hamilton tour starts on Front Street by the main flagpole, then turns up Queen Street to pass the historical Perot Post Office and the Bermuda National Library on the left. Next it turns onto Church Street, heading East passing City Hall, the Most Holy Trinity Church and the Supreme Court. The driver provides commentary about the various sites (includes the Bermuda Post office and Fort Hamilton) before making his way down to East Broadway via King Street. From there he heads to the Botanical Gardens and stops outside Camden for a brief discussion. Here passengers will learn about our beautiful flowers, banana patches, the rubber tree and Bermuda’s own cedar and palmetto trees. After viewing the gardens, the driver transports the passengers back along east Broadway to Front street, dropping passengers off at the original pickup point. Note: We are flexible with pickup and drop off locations depending on your needs.

The Dockyard tour
Our Dockyard tour starts alongside the cruise ship at King’s Wharf or Heritage Wharf. The driver gives a commentary of the Naval Dockyard, describing its rich history from the 1800s & its contribution to Bermuda History. Key landmarks include the National Museum of Bermuda & Clock Tower Mall as you drive past the shops & buildings on Camber Road. From there you’ll continue on to Freeport Drive & turn left onto Craddock Road, heading towards the Lagoon Park. Here passengers can see a tidal lagoon with fish & birds in their natural habitat. The tour continues west along Malabar Road, with the driver explaining Bermuda’s unique rooftop architecture & how we catch our rain (including a look at an above ground water tank). Once over Watford Bridge, the train pulls into the lay-by beside the Yellow Fever cemetery. The driver then returns along Malabar Road back to the Naval Dockyard. Note: Due to international security regulations, the starting location of this tour may be subject to change.
