Bermuda's Climate - Built for the Outdoors

Bermuda has a remarkably mild subtropical climate that seldom allows extremes of either heat or cold. Although, during the summer months, Bermuda is warm -- up to 90°F in August -- and humid, the Island is nearly always fanned by cool sea breezes. Between May and October, average temperatures range between 75° and 85°. During the winter months (December through March) temperatures average between 60° and 70°F.

Those realities make it possible for most outdoor recreation in any month of the year -- tennis and golf clubs for example are open year-round.  Beaches remain open as well, but during the winter months the water temperature is not necessarily intended for the warm-blooded.

It never snows in Bermuda. Rainfall is spread fairly evenly throughout the year, averaging a little more than four inches a month. During the summer months, hurricanes occasionally pay Bermuda a visit. Our stout stone buildings and a Government infrastructure highly experienced in the business of preventing and repairing damage from storms have always kept Bermuda safe from the kind of damage sometimes seen in other jurisdictions.

If you’ve ever been to sea, you’ll know that sunsets and sunrises on the ocean can be spectacular affairs. Tiny Bermuda (21 miles long and a mile wide at its widest point) is like a ship at sea in many ways, and our sunsets and sunrises are as beautiful as can be found on the ocean. Finding the perfect place to watch them is easy in a country whose shoreline is seldom much more than a stone’s throw away.
