The America’s Cup will continue to provide short and long-term opportunities for Bermudians, according to Michael Fahy, the Minister of Home Affairs.
His comments came as he was given a tour yesterday of the Morgan’s Point site where Artemis Racing are building their team facility.
“Great progress has already been made and it again shows the real effect and presence the America’s Cup has on the local economy,” Sen Fahy said.
“Many Bermudians are working on this site and even if that represents a short-term opportunity, it has an ongoing effect and increases Bermudian skill sets.”
Local firms Building Blocks Construction, which is owned by David Durham, and First Class Electrics are among the contractors working on transforming the site.
