Vixen Ship Wreck


Bermuda's Shipwrecks

There are some four hundred wrecks to be found off Bermuda. The earliest date from the first quarter of the 16th century when the island became a landmark for Spanish ships sailing back to Spain from the New World. Both the old and more recent wrecks, scattered throughout the 200-square-mile reef system that surrounds the island, are protected by law against any unauthorized interference. 

The more popular dive sites are easily accessed from the island by boat, with an average depth of between 30 and 50 feet. Listed here are some of the better known wrecks, highlighted in the map above. Note that some wrecks are known by two, three or even four different names.

A FREE fun and entertaining depiction of life in the Royal Naval Dockyard during the early 19th century. Period costumed entertainers will show the historical aspects of the Royal Naval Dockyard with a short live performance.
