By Brigitta Wohlmuth

Try one of these popular guided tours to discover a side of the island that you might otherwise never experience.

Offshore

Zip through the waves on a jet-ski safari or hop a ride on the fast and furious Wild-Cat boat! K.S. Watersports offer loads of exciting tours and rentals, from kayaking to parasailing, this “one-stop-shop” for off-shore adventures gives you access to the island from a whole new plane. So choose to stick with the group or plan your own private excursion.  Whatever type of tour you want their friendly staff can make it happen, operating from four locations across the Island. In Town

On the chic west-end of Hamilton, at 5 Front Street you’ll find a haven of treasures to explore in the Flagship Store of Alexandra Mosher Studio Jewellery. The famous local artist is best known for her pink-sand-filled jewellery, and on Tuesdays at 11am or Thursdays at 3pm, you can join a Free Behind-The-Scenes Tour to see how everything is handcrafted on site. Upon arrival you will be guided with commentary through each stage of production from Alexandra’s private studio and workbench. (Info: 441 236 9009, hello@alexandramosher.com, or alexandramosher.com)

The East End

At the eastern-most tip of the Island you’ll find the Town of St. George (aka “Ye Olde Ghoste Towne”) a UNESCO World Heritage Site steeped in mystery and history dating back to the early 1600s.  On Thursdays at 8:30pm, you can hear the eerie tales of the past on the popular Haunted History Tour in the Summer time and earlier in the winter as it gets dark sooner.  Guided by local actors in full costume, you’ll walk through the winding alleys and old cobbled lanes of this unique town, but beware! Your footsteps may awaken those who slumber underground.  (Info: hauntedhistorybda.com or 441 705 1838)
